Privacy

This policy covers Mailglade 0.1.0 for Thunderbird, the add-on published on addons.thunderbird.net, and this website.

The short version

The add-on makes no network requests. It reads the folders you choose, builds a search index in Thunderbird's own storage on your computer, and answers your searches from it. Your messages, your queries and your results stay on that computer. There is no account, no sign-in, no payment and no server to talk to.

What the add-on stores, and where

Everything below is held in the storage Thunderbird gives the add-on, inside your Thunderbird profile on your own computer. None of it is transmitted.

Removing indexed data in settings deletes the index, the saved searches and the log. Your mail in Thunderbird is not touched by anything the add-on does; it reads your mail and never writes to it.

What the add-on does not do

Thunderbird itself still talks to your mail provider the way you set it up. Indexing a folder can make Thunderbird download message bodies it had not fetched yet, from that provider, exactly as opening those messages would.

Permissions, and why each one is needed

This website

mailglade.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts, and serves its fonts from this site. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests, including IP addresses, to serve pages and protect the service. The site sets no identifier of its own and builds no profile of you.

If you write to us

Mail sent to an address at mailglade.app is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a personal mailbox, and is kept only as long as answering you needs. It is not added to a mailing list or shared.

Children

Mailglade is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.

Changes

A later version that adds a feature reaching the network will say so here and in its add-on listing before you install it, and will ask before anything leaves your computer.

Contact

Write to privacy@mailglade.app with a privacy question, or support@mailglade.app with anything else. The terms of use cover what you may do with the add-on.
